Solar eclipse on the 4th January 2011
The particle solar eclipse of January 4, 2010 was observed in Europe and Northern Africa. There is running of the Moon shadow seen from Meteosat 8 (MSG-1) in the following animation. This geostationary satellites provide Rapid Scanning Service and it is scanning Europe and northern Africa in 5 minutes interval.
The image colours is obtained from combination of channels in a visible spectrum VIS008, VIS006 and near infrared IR016
